Not just the press, but the president's job during these briefings is to inform and pacify the public. Instead, he used the pulpit to self congratulate and deflect all blame. It's so painful and obvious to watch in every single press conference. I like Dan Crenshaw but he never acknowledges the presidents shortcoming, only how wrong everyone is treating him.
