Although China is major problem I think the biggest problem has escaped most everybody in this chat. WHY IS IT SO DAMMED EXPENSIVE TO MANUFACTURE IN THE US? Until we tackle this issue it doesn't matter which foreign country manufacture our goods because we stay beholden to a country not named the United States.
The reason why Coronavirus shouldn't be referred to as the 'Chinese Virus' is that it leads to racism, even if it is not necessarily racist itself. It leads to things like people blaming Chinese or just Asian people in general for covid, it may sound stupid but there are videos of people spitting and yelling racial slurs and Asian people, most of whom haven't even been to China let alone Wuhan, and blaming them for covid.
Really enjoy these interviews, between playing Skyrim (again) there my smoking breaks. Thanks Joe for great subject matter. π
