Just because the modern SJW liberals try to police what people are allowed to say, don't be fooled by this idea that conservatives are some sort of defenders of free speech. If they don't like something they will try to shut it down as fast as any liberals do. Liberals might do their word policing around race and gender while conservatives do the exact same thing with Christianity, the military or general "think of the children!" bullshit.
