  1. I learned honor from the many visits I had where my skin met any part of whatever my mother brang to visit. Great match-up between mixed 5th and 6th grade class touch football. Final play before the bell. My fellow 5th grade friend with the handoff, juked, and jammed past everyone, just me left in the way of his touchdown, just at the boundary I'm as close as I can be to 2 handing him. My arms stretched, he bent away, and W H I S T L E!! Teacher, along with my team…DOWN!!! no touchdown!! And my friend who scored refuted! I walk in to the growing commotion and said I was close, but I didn't touch him, many relieved, many upset, many in awe. We all washed up and went to lunch, where we sat as a class. I was praised by everyone for telling the truth, even got called honest Abe, haha. I knew I could have kept quiet. That was something I couldn't do, betray my friend. A little clarification, and I didn't think twice. Ryan Shimatsu, I hope to grill some good food someday, my old friend. 🤙🏾🤙🏾

  3. There is no cooler person than someone who can admit when they got their ass handed to them. In sports, board games, whatever it may be, having honor is the absolute coolest thing you could ever do.
