  1. Stern and o&a in their primes were so much better than any podcasts. I think one of the things that made the shows good even though they may have hated it at the time was that they were MORE corporate. They actually had an office to go to, bosses above them, numbers to hit, producers etc. It made it feel more like a real part of show business which made them make more of an effort. All of these comedians that go on each others podcasts 20 times a week just autopilot the same low effort shit and don't really care. It's almost like subconsciously they don't really respect the medium or consider it important. When a comedian went on Howard or o&a it was a big deal to them and they made a lot more effort because they knew what it could do for them if they made an impression. Plus they had the advantage of being in a less PC era with less social media so they could push the boundaries much more, which is kind of weird because they were mainstream corporate shows with big money behind them while podcasts are self produced and you would think should be the edgier of the two. But with social media picking apart every off the cuff joke in a podcast they have become neutered and lame.
