Adam, I believe Leviticus 23 says that the Feast of Trumpets is actually one day and not two. Lev 23 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. So if the new moon was sighted in Jerusalem last night at sundown on 9/21 than wouldn't the Feast of Trumpets be from sundown 9/21 to sundown 9/22 ?

The Star of Bethlehem was a Sign of birth (Christ: Head), whether some believed or not. The Stars on 9/23/17 are a sign of birth (The Church: Body), whether some will believe or not.
It very well could be the rapture, you are correct, the important thing is we are ready and watching regardless of the day or hour: The "Last Trump" of the Shofar will sound & Feast of Trumpets will end approximately 6:36pm sundown in 9/23/17 Jerusalem time. "Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." – 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
