This is why people try to rationalise with different sorts of theism, deism, atheism and agnosticism. Though it’s probably best not to focus on these things too much, but rather the simple things in life.
Here's what I've always said to this argument. You get trapped in space, unable to die, just moving forever as gravity takes you, maybe you get stuck in the center of a star, one day it might explode, but usually you're just floating in a hard vacuum.
Is that worse then death? Death is defined here as infinite nothing, and yet the reason people find the above scary is because they view it as infinite life without any activity, in other words infinite nothing.
At least in the first option you have a view, maybe sometimes a strange one amoungst the strange matter of a neutron star.
