Everyone’s right. Use both. Maybe alternate with a schedule so you don’t have to concern yourself with as much trivial planning and if God’s inspiring you to change your schedule do so!
I struggle with telling people God loves them because I know that it puts off a self-centered Gospel that does not take into account that they are worthy of an eternal hell because they, everyday, disobey and do not value God as He is but instead turn to their own lustful passions. In my time evangelizing I find that starting a conversation and truly listening to people and how they came to their beliefs is helpful to both sides. I then interject my reasons for believing, what I believe, and how I came to that conclusion as well while giving a testimony about how real the forgiveness of my sins and knowledge of God through Christ has been in my life. Although street preaching is a different than having a conversation, we should never shy away from the reality that the human race is fallen, wicked, and guilty of eternal punishment. But God, being merciful and full of grace decided before the foundation of the world that He would slay His own Son for the sins of the world, that He was buried and was risen on the third day fulfilled many, many prophecies written centuries and even millennia earlier.
And lastly, the thing that keeps me centered while evangelizing is that I don't have to worry about "convincing" people. That's not my job – that's His. He draws people unto Himself. I cannot do that. But I know that when the Word goes out that it is sharper than any two edged sword and when those who are given eyes to see and ears to hear receive it, they will believe by the grace of God despite my weakness as a human vessel.
