So if our national debt is through the roof and rising at record levels every year where the hell does the money come from for UBI? Just like communism it sounds great on paper but will only lead to the bankruptcy of the nation. Very few have Rogan's motivation and drive.
A UBI will be needed, the Problem is our Financial system, you must take resources=taxes from others to provide it…we need a US Digital credits system alongside our paper dollar credits generated when you spend a dollar or credit…then you have no need to tax anyone. and also fund climate change, and infrastructure without taxing everyone into poverty…the thing is we need a UBI and the ability to work etc…
So Joe says people don't work well when they don't have to. Based on what evidence? Show me actual studies that prove this.
He says most jobs won't be automated. Based on what? Any job like his that is 100% or near 100% digital can be done with proper AI and software.
Then when you get into physical work. Anything 100% or near 100% done with a machine can be automated. For example truck drivers.
Then their worries is if say 90% is on some benefits so they don't die. And the rest is actually working. Why would the 10% work? Well, you really don't need Netflix or whatever to stay alive. Yes there might be a little over, but I doubt by that much. Meaning if you want ANY quality in life you still need to find a way to make money even if it is to make a blanket and sell it. But the theory is when the population isn't constantly worried about just making enough to not be homeless. We can get truly great things. There actually is some evidence showing this will be the case. Like when you look at richer people.
they will just raise rent so i won't be enough anyways.
With all that automation and people going jobless, what makes you think they want people anymore? All those extras that don't fit in or aren't needed are going to have to leech. Battlestar Galactica assumes everyone is needed, but in our world or country what if they're not needed anymore, what are they going to do with us?
