Matt 12: 40 and you reject the NINETEEN scriptures that say Jesus rose on the third day.
Jesus wasn't separated from God His Father until He said,
"My God why have you forsaken Me"
I have looked at 15 sites right here and not one understands the truth and it is so simple. take a look at exodus
Have anybody noticed what Christ said (John 2:19/Mark 14:58/paraphrase, NKJV), "Destroy this Temple (made by human hands) and in THREE DAYS (3 Days) I will build it again."… Did Christ say 3 Days and 3 Nights?… Nope… just simply 3 Days only… correct!… then, if a "DAY" starts in the "Evening" according to the Book of Genesis… that means "3 Evenings (3 Days)."
It was only the Gospel Writers who tied up (match up) and interpreted the meaning of what Christ had said "3 Days" into the story of Prophet Jonah under the belly of the Big Fish for 3 days and 3 nights… Was that the true and absolute meaning?
Do the "3 Days" always ABSOLUTELY and automatically meant "3 days and 3 nights?"… Nope… Who is more reliable, the words of Christ Jesus or the Gospel writers who wrote their own Gospel version after more than +25 years after the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus?… There is a hidden difference between "3 Days" VS. "3 Days and 3 Nights."… This calls for Spiritual Wisdom…
Dear Pastor Batchelor, you are very smart and educated but your Bible teaching is off the center. You prove that where is a will you can very convincing demonstrate that 2 +2 = 5, and naive people believe you! First of all don't try to interpret what Jesus said! He said three (3) days and three (3) nights in the hearth (it's a figure of speech, dummy, like when He said eat this is my body or drink this is my blood, did He mean that He cut his finger and let the disciples suck or bite it? Be it as it may, from Thursday night (which actually would be beginning of Friday dark part) till Sunday morning (before the day brake would only be three (3) nights and two (2) days, even a first grader could tell you that, but for your benefit let's calculate: Friday night part (what you called erroneously Thursday night), Friday day part, Saturday night part and Saturday day part and lastly the Sunday night part = (3 night parts and 2 day parts) How did you come up with tree days and tress nights? I am sick and tired of you SDA people trying to justify and explain a change that the Church that you tale so much pride to denigrate has made, declaring that Christ was crucified on a Friday. You deny Jesus by rejecting His only sign and play the Jesuits: game of subtly pushing a different Jesus than the true one. No wonder Jesus addressed His message to an "evil and adulterous generation". Well, enjoy wallowing in your own deceit.
