Probably fired cuz the Capt didnt use the proper pronouns in his letter…
The navy accused him of telegraphing weakness to the enemy by letting the public know his ship is currently indefensible
⚓️ Thanks 😎 the whole leadership of the navy is suspect. Consider the collisions- Fitzgerald & McCain – these college boys – USNA – don’t have a clue how the real world works. The navy is so big & insular in its culture the leadership doesn’t look outside the navy for examples of best practices. Example: the oil industry was having a lot of big incidents… EXXON Valdez… they looked outside & asked commercial aviation WTF? Big shift in standards & practices… the navy has not learned squat from Fitzgerald & McCain…. Bonhomme Richard is a total loss & some sailor is going to get hung with that when ship safety management could have managed that incident to just a minor event. I worked for the navy ‘78-‘82 scary AF.
