Just stumbled on this clip. I was on MC130 call sign Dragon 02 as the Electronic Warfare Officer for the mission. Not only was the mission at the very limits of our capability, it also required an incredible degree of innovation by all. Things that are bread and butter now – such as flying with NODs, blackout landings, comm-out inflight refueling, etc. were all developed during this mission. The incredible sting of failure, the loss of friends, but the fruit decades later of our Joint SOF capability is something that has left a lasting mark on my life.
