  1. I am so lucky. I haven't had a life full of pain and suffering. At least not enough to matter. Quite frankly to me the worst pain in life is rejection from others….more so loved ones. Jesus had the ultimate rejection and suffering, all because of his love for us.

  2. To answer your question about the problem of evil/suffering, consider these excerpts of the Qur'an that answers what we're doing here on this Earth and then why bad things happen to people:

    Qur'an 67:1-2

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

1 Blessed is He in Whose Hand lies sovereignty, and He is Powerful over all things, 2 Who created death and life that He may try you as to which of you is most virtuous in deed, and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,

    Qur'an 29:1-7

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

1 Alif. Lām. Mīm. 2 Does mankind suppose that they will be left to say, “We believe,” and that they will not be tried, 3 though We have indeed tried those who were before them? Surely God knows those who are truthful, and surely He knows the liars. 4 Or do those who commit evil deeds suppose that they will outstrip Us? Evil indeed is the judgment they make! 5 Whosoever hopes for the meeting with God, God’s term is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 6 And whosoever strives, strives only for himself. Truly God is beyond need of the worlds. 7 And those who believe and perform righteous deeds, We shall surely absolve them of their evil deeds, and We shall surely recompense them according to the best of that which they used to do.

If it's not obvious, things are meant to happen in this world. Bad things happen and that's how God differentiates between those who really believe and those who only say it but are lying to others or themselves. When you truly believe in and trust in God, you rely on him and know that whatever happens, he's got your back. That's really powerful, especially if you're going through tough times. On top of that, it's also a warning against those who commit evil. Very, very clear warning; the people that cause you to suffer through their ill intentions will not disappear free from recompense.
words. It can't get much clearer than that, but if this helps, here's God telling you himself that this book is

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

1 Alif. Lām. Rā. A Book whose signs have been determined, then expounded, from the Presence of One Wise, Aware.
