I was an EMT for 8 years, and this does not surprise me at all. I've been called to Skilled Nursing Facilities many times for a "Code 2", meaning serious but not life threatening. However, when I got there it was actually "Code 3", or life threatening. Why? Because when a SNF reports a Code 3 they get penalized, so they lie and put their patient's life in danger. The medical field is rife with bullshit.
