It just doesn’t make sense that they’re choosing the guns that “look the most menacing” to be banned. There are still many non restricted guns available here in Canada. What they’re trying to do is minimize the amount of damage someone can do in a small amount of time by only allowing 5 rounds per magazine in high powered rifles, But reloading takes 1 second. These things just simply don’t make any sense.
We don't need guns here except for hunting, but most people live in town and don't hunt and when fewer people have access to guns it reduces the number of gunfights a bit and the people who possess use it to shoot each other and the police arrive at 20 car if there is a call that someone has a weapon the law is for assault type weapons the machine gun was already banned here, it is for old rifles hunting and certain large caliber hunting

I know this post is 2 years old but i just found it. Assault weapons are already prohibited in Canada. Trudeau did this during the start of the pandemic with the house suspended. I can't believe how so many people are misinformed. You can't use an ar15 for hunting range use only, and if you could that's a coyote caliber it's not humane to take down a deer with. The big picture is no government should be able to take away your legally acquired property.
