I disagree. How Heard publicly trashed Depp on the eve of the Aquaman premier for fame, clout and money is something he has yet to recover from. Plus, she stole from sick children while making herself out to be the victim martyr me too poster girl and he needed something equally public to set the record straight. She is just Despicable.
If I'm being honest, I think he made a fair point. They are both human beings and we should be careful how we approach situations like this, with the trial being televised and all. He did say that he was fine that "he was more in the right than she was." He's just pleading for people to have more compassion.
