It is ok if it is voluntary and if they are paid even half of the going rate. New Orleans sucks at almost everything.
The world runs on these jobs. Why the hell are they not paying people a proper amount of money? My sister has been working for CVS full time for over 18 years. She has found her and her family living on the streets several times while still working this job. She lived in a tent one summer with her husband and two children. She spent two years off and on living in cheap motels. I am in the medical field and when I became disabled from health issues I could no longer afford my rent. I luckily was taken in by a friend. With the low wages we are all forced to work for, it is very easy to find yourself homeless in this country. Rents are extremely high. It does not take much to lose everything when your pay scale is so low. Minimum wage really needs to go way up. Selling your body or selling drugs is often the only way to get by or feel an escape. Every job from garbage disposal to sales clerk to pizza delivery driver are jobs that make the world go around. I think everyone working should be getting paid enough to afford the regular things we need in life. This should include a retirement fund, and money for vacations. The pay scale is so low most people can't go on a vacation and saving money for retirement is a joke to them.

I mean tax payers are paying for the food and stuff for prison but maybe instead of money they can get time off their sentence?
