My ex-wife would literally try to re-define words in the middle of a conversation so she could always be right. Sometime after we got married she'd do it regularly along with lying. We'd have a conversation, then the next day she'd say the whole conversation never happened.
Group identity politics is a problem. Most people have not though enough about the necessary obligations of belonging to a group to address the topic intelligently.
Makes a lot of sense. And that IS the effect of Marxism which creates tribalism and eventually socialism or communism.
My friends, these are all the reasons why it's better to be democratic. A democratic person doesn't actually seek to change everyone's mind. They understand they may be wrong and that it's an imperfect world and rather seek to find meaning in it than wage some arbitrary ideology war which anyways in 30 to 40 years will likely be completely refuted in the pages of history in favor of democracy anyways.
