Actually, the name of the bacterium is Streptococcus mutans, not Staphylococcus mutans.
I am pretty sure that if your cavities were at the "point of no return" you would have know it. Anyone who has had a cavity knows the pain. But as for Xylitol in the gum and nasal spray, I have heard only good things about it. Get it now before big pharm pays off the gov't to ban it.

I have always chewed on Mentos Spearmint Sugarfree Xylitol gum. I’m thinking of moving on to trying Zellies! I heard they have more Xylitol per chew
