  1. This is what happened to my father, only worse. Lewis County in Washington was known to be corrupt back in the 70's and 80's. My dad was railroaded for a sex crime to my "sister" (not blood) and was put on the registry because it was a play to get custody of the kids. He lived with that for 40 years, having to keep his head down and be a nobody because nobody believes you're innocent. Finally in 2020, my sister was able to get them in front of a judge and the judge apologized for the wrong doing to both him and my family. You don't understand how hard it is to not be able to talk about your favorite person in your life out of fear of the optics from your classmates throughout school. When he called me after court, that was the 2nd time I ever heard my dad cry. The 1st was when my grandfather died. He told me he was free and he could finally turn his porch light on for Halloween. It confused me and made me chuckle because it seemed so miniscule, but he insisted it was a part of the entire baggage he had carried. His health wasn't great and only lived a year longer until covid finished him off. I'm glad he got to have a year knowing that he was free, no longer for that to have a potential to be thrown at him, which it had a few times that I know of, including with coworkers and was threatened by my mother with it in their custody case. I hope this guy gets a settlement unlike us. The state of Washington doesn't care and would rather bury everything now that he's gone. Definitely not a race thing in many places, many times it's for the optics for the officers, to move up in rank and salary. Absolutely disgusting. Sure they should give incentives for good arrests but they need to give demotions and shame of bad work.
