Just to give further context, this is not a verse about salvation or losing salvation which many claim, its about being fit for service to carry out great works for the Lord. Back then hot water had use and so did cold water but lukewarm water did not. You cant lose your salvation if your truly saved.

How Far is Freedom?
On this earth we have freedom of choice and this is an example, but for those that choose the wrong path and insist on living this till death you have a problem.
The entrance to heaven is not a democracy. Once dead you have no choice as to your destination. You will go where your now expired life and its works, say you should go.
It will be heaven for those that choose to live for God now and have their rewards eternal,
outer darkness for those that once accepted salvation, then lived a life as though he does not exist,
and hell for those that reject Jesus totally and never call on his name to save them and forgive their sins. No amount of fame, money, nor earthly position of influence will change it.
God's integrity is well beyond any compromises.
This is how it is. If you want to start the Christian journey and be on the right side of death start here, then live a good Godly life.
It is already too late to save this earth. There is only one hope and that is to call upon the name of the Lord and be eligible for your place in the new heavens and the new earth.
Here is the prayer that begins your journey with God on this earth and on into eternity.
