ventilators help w/diagnosis and it is easier than getting near an infectious pt. Also you dont want to aeresolize the virus . especially if you intubate a lot. also, it is nice to be able to do a bit of a precedure. but is it that sick pts go on vintialtors, so diee more often, or are ventilators killers? well, for reasons we are all trained in – it is the latter. especially w/shift changes. unless there really is no other choice. like, idk, surprize?
