You touched on a few things here that hit home. First was in our marriage. He is a Christian & knows the Word very well, but has always been hesitant about church attendance. This is still a sore spot with me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis for 35 years. Under treatment I was able to function. I'm now using a walker & everyday is extremely painful. I have Medicare now & see the doc on Monday, the 21st. I hope to be well enough by the end of next month to return to church, though I find it to be a very lonely place to be. I don't like trivial conversations. I know I have to just go, because isolation has crushed my spirit.
Another point is the company we keep. A couple that took us in when we we were homeless twice. The first time was lovely, but I noticed a big change in her attitude. I felt beholden to her for this. I began to see her faith deteriorate & jealousy set in. It was so hard!! I prayed for her for decades! Instead of my prayers influencing her towards the Lord, she became a negative influence on me. I eventually prayed that God would move us or her away. They moved. I struggled a lot with anger for a good two years. The Lord helped to figure out the emotional abuse she held over me. I've forgiven, but cannot subject myself to that again. Only recently have I been able to share the Gospel.
Please do pray. The continual trials & hardships have all but beaten me down. Yet I do hold on to the Savior.
