Scorsese is right: Marvel movies may be good, but they aren't cinema.
HAG IN A BLACK LEATHER JACKET!!!
Marvel lame
Scorsese said the Marvel movies weren't cinema and then went on to say he'd never seen one. That's just ignorance from a guy that should know better.
Let's be real, I respect the hell out of Martin Scorsese, and can appreciate all he's done for filmmaking. And with all do respect to him, he did write an op-ed piece and equated Marvel Films to "carnival attraction rides" and "spectacle". And I will give him credit, a lot of Marvel and Superhero films in general are about the visuals, the fights, and the "awe factor". But a lot of them have great stories, with great characters of depth, and a overall well constructed film. He didn't seem to give them the proper credit their due, and I felt by reading his article this was coming from a salty man who had his 3+ movie pushed to stream, and Marvel didn't. lol.
So, I think a lot of what drives his views on Marvel are financial gain, and if that's the case, his opinion doesn't really hold water at the end of the day. I would like to think 4 Billion + in revenue from the MCU since Iron Man speaks for the success its had. And the day Scorsese opens his eyes, and agrees to helm a Superhero movie (Joker doesn't count he only produced) I will eagerly watch it. Much love and respect to JRE, and everyone here… Have a good day, a better tomorrow, and #StopTheHate
