Scorsese said "it's not cinema" "IT'S NOT FOR ME" Were Patton Oswalt Comedian to cover for filmmakers who want to destroy the comic book film by giving him a pass, how do we respond to that I wonder?
3:45 Scorsese talk.
Im a HUGE comic guy
And The sad thing is is that in the comics these characters are actually very interesting and diverse,
They're not just jokes a punching
Spider man is daily life struggles and trama and responsibility
Cap is war trama and conflict with current American idealism
Thor is fantasy, worthiness, and morality
iron man is industrial warfare, humanism, and futuristism
And DC is amazing too
Super Man is human kindness and dealing isolation from self
Batman is Life trama , self discipline and gulit
Wonder woman is compassion and bridging old worlds
Just shows that handled right any writer can make a awe inspired story
THESE STORES COULD BE EPIC
but the MCU is just not even trying anymore
I don't believe in super hero fatigue,
I believe in bad movie fatigue
I'm so distracted by the headphone cord being taut, that I missed this entire conversion. My brain is screaming "get a longer cord!!!"
He didn't say the Marvel movies weren't for him, he said they aren't cinema. He definitely does not respect those movies at all.
But he did make a good point about these kinds of movies saturating the market completely, to the point where other genres don't even stand a chance in hell to make profit. I think it would've come across better if he didn't just blatantly disrespect everyone who ever worked on the Marvel movies, regardless of what he thinks of them.
