Phases of the moon
Full moon will be directly south (away from center) at midnight and sun will be directly north (opposite side of center)
Everyday after, sun will move closer, until it passes the moon, new moon
Everyday after, sun will move further ahead until next full moon
Both objects being of relatively the same size and operating at same elevation and circling the same center in expanding and contracting circles of different durations
