This phenomenon happens to many different communities. Here in Canada many First Nations people has had this happen to them.
As a Cree i love being out on the land. I have heard many elders say that being out of the land is good medicine.
Certain people, me included, have genes that don't allow them to metabolize alcohol. I can have ONE drink, my friend FOUR, and we will blow the same alcohol level with a breath analyzer after an hour. I also happen to hate the feeling alcohol gives me, so I guess I'm lucky.
