I understand schizophrenia is often caused by the brain over lawnmowering the neural connections in the brain. During adolescence there is a process that begins where excess neural connections in the brain are cut away. Sometimes this lawnmowering doesn't stop when it should, and so too many neural connections are cut, resulting in schizophrenia. My guess is that LSD is the last thing the brain needs when it is already over lawnmowering itself.

I did lsd for a good while and the problem is that when you take it you better think good thoughts because if you don't you'll have a bad trip and that sucks. That's when I stopped and never did it again I stopped.
