The ultimate goal of conciousness is to achieve enlightenment and end the cycle. This is done by combatting your shadow and ego throughout your life and living a life of no regrets, truly becoming the self(a concious whole,) whilst living. Very few people have achieved this (jesus, buddha etc.) And it didnt happen until they were in thier 30's. There are also examples of people who lose this battle with the shadow and let it take over. (Hitler, stalin, just generally evil people) These ones like most people will be reborn either on this world or somewhere else in the galaxy and have thier conciousness wipe and ultimately will repeat the process until you walked the path correctly and the cycle comes to an end.
So my parents would have to relive their life over again? What if my mom got pregnant the day before I was supposed to and a different kid is born?
as hints emerge showing how fluid the physical laws governing our reality are, the tragic and beautiful existence of life as we know it is looking ever more unique and non repeatable in the known universe
