When I'm writing fiction, I find that I need to draw inspiration from something. Often, I draw the idea from a painting or a song I like, or sometimes even a dream. But, when I'm writing something non-fiction, like philosophical or political (political in terms of 'what is the right way to live life as a society'), I draw inspiration from experiences like conversations I've had, things people have told me, questions people have asked me, questions I have asked myself whilst alone in nature, etc. But I think music, as in lyric writing and poetry really, is the best indicator of the way a society works and what they believe it. It's the only form of art that displays the pains of today and yesterday, also our fears of tomorrow. That's why if you want to know the type of mindset of a certain decade, you would look to the lyrics and the music. The deeper the lyrics, the more profound the thinking of the people was of the decade. The more superficial, the more broken and lost a society is.
As an artist, find what works for you, it could be Em way or Hov way, but don’t do what works for others!!
This guy needs to stfu and let the guest talk more
Gaaaaaarrrrbage. That’s not how you write music. That’s how you write shit. RHCP is the biggest culprit of this BS. It’s all nonsense.
damn apparently i write lyrics the same way as RHCP do
