  1. I spent a career in a tactical position, and any time I thought I was getting a cold I would volunteer to work the chamber to clear my sinuses from the toes. Never got sick if I could run a cycle through the chamber.

  2. Statistics show that the first phase of SAS traing (before you are badged and got the beret) one person dies on average every two years, and they only do selection twice a year. Thats how tough tier one SF training is.
20 people have died since 1984 in the first training phase.

  3. The thing with tier one SF, you have to take the trainee's literally as close to real violent, uncomfortable limits, as close to what could happen to them in the field, without killing them or maiming them for life. Its a fine line not to cross, but they have got to experience as near as can be to real world situations, to see if they can cope. It is what they signed up for, and it is going to happen to them for real at some point. And you dont want them to fold in a real world situation, it could be costly not just to themselves, but to their team, and the over all mission, and the lives of others.
