The problem with putting military personnel in US neighborhoods is that this is what authoritarians have traditionally done. If you want to end the rioting, untie the hands of the citizens. If someone attacks my business (source of my family's livelihood) I should be able to use lethal force. If someone tries to steal…and that is CLEARLY what is happening…I should be permitted to defend the products at my discretion. People would shape up REAL fkn fast. The problem is….what do you do when the thing being stolen is a loaf of bread, not Louis Vuitton. Generally speaking though, the problem isn't a grocery store getting robbed of food except in CA where everything is a slap on the wrist.
Soldiers are trained to only point their guns at people that have guns pointed at them. They have a thousand times more discipline than our LEO. Soldiers work to protect our rights, while law enforcement works to take them away.
