The "Deep State" are really just a bunch of people so deeply entrenched in the system, they've held their positions for decades. That's the real swamp. I always thought that Trump should have marched in from day one and fired as many of them as he had the power to fire. He didn't do that, because he didn't know they were the swamp. I think he knows better now and, given a second term, I think he wiould run things a lot differently. He also had difficulty finding trustworthy people in DC. How sad is it that we have a whole city populated by corrupt degenerates masquerading as upstanding citizens. Makes you queasy when you think about it.
I understand the need for that backbone machine, keeps going regardless of who is elected at the top, and that goes for Congress too. A country as important on the world stage as the US needs to keep running. It's just unfortunate that the individuals running it are so grossly corrupt. In some ways I suppose, it's good we have them right now, since we have a weak, incompetent pretender in the White House. The Deep State are likely the only thing keeping China from running right over us. I always thought Trump's true moment would come in his second term. I still think that. Let's make it happen.
