That was the beauty of the beginning of the MMA it wasn’t really mixed but it was all the types of fighting fighting each other, it developed into what it is today and it’s beautiful
My perspective is whatever your tool is to deal with a self defense situation make sure it is sharp if you say oh just run well you better be good at that bc if not you could get gassed or end up being slower and being in a worse position than just starting to fight back
I have an idea live in Texas so you can carry there is no point in getting involved unless a threat is presented where you can’t run
Nowhere to run in a hockey fight, go until someone gets dropped
Wrestling first. Then bjj. I did it the other way around with my kids. Easier to transition from wrestling to bjj than bjj to wrestling
