How about a group of you people who believe the earth is flat, charter a plane and fly to the outer edge of the earth.
Take along an internationally recognised film crew to document the flight and film the outer edge of the earth.
When you have done that and I have seen the footage that proves your claim I will refund the cost.
Ever since the invention of the Chronometer hundreds of years ago sailors have been navigating their ships across the oceans of the world using the sun, moon and stars to calculate their position. The practice is called Celestial Navigation
.
They use a device called a Sextant to accurately measure the altitude of the celestial body above the horizon and an accurate time piece to accurately record the time the sighting.
From this information using a publication called The Nautical Almanac and a form of maths called SPHERICAL TRIGONOMETRY (not plane trig) they calculate their latitude and longitude position. A good navigator can fix their position at sea to within one nautical mile in good conditions using this method.
I KNOW this works because I have learned and practiced Celestial navigation myself with accurate results..
On a clear day one can see a definite sharp horizon line when looking out to sea. This can only happen on a spherical earth.
If the earth was flat there would be no horizon line at all. It would be hundreds, or more likely thousands of miles away at the edge of the flat plane. One wouldn't be able to see it because it is just too far away. It would vanish in the atmospheric haze!
It seems that believers in the flat earth lie can't even grasp such simple, basic concepts.
Another simple exercise is to take a theodolite and look out to sea from a hill. The horizon line drops below the cross hairs when set properly level. The higher you go the greater that drop.
Everyone should be warned before entering the flat earth, there aint no coming back from this. Your going to lose your friends and everyone around cause you wont tolerate their stupidity.
