I recommend reading Jeremiah 35 it seems to be about your and your followers. Notice that God commanded the people to drink wine. Thought your know the bible. And it was not grape juice that God created. He created the wine period. You are adding your words to God words that makes you wrong. Also In the new testament is states drink a little wine for you atomic sake.
I was nearly thrown out of seminary for having a glass of wine. I wasn't breaking a rule, because they did not have a rule. I was even told to not take part in communion at our church where they used wine. Interestingly, the seminary created a rule after my tenure there and have since rescinded it. I don't think this issue is going to be resolved soon in the Church!
One out of seven people who drinks becomes an alcoholic? I would like to know where you get that statistic..
When exactly is an individual Christian offically drunk? How many ounces of alcohol before one crosses that line? What blood alcohol concentration (BAC) makes a person officially chemically drunk? .02? .05? .08? Until we can find that exact official chemical measurement, we can not say consuming alcohol as a Christian is acceptable to Jesus. It is better that all of us Christians promote, support, teach and practice abstainance from all mind altering chemicals, alcohol being the most harmful. Praise Jesus.
And it doesn't even taste good!
