Really? then why does Paul say speaking in tongues is the language of Angels? why did Cornelius in this household speak in tongues when in fact they all spoke the same language and so did Peter they all understand each other? what was the point of that you’re the one that needs to read your Bible
this makes sense…I meet a lot of christians who speaks like this "babalabashababalalashahsha"…like what the heck does that mean?…is that even a language?..
I love Doug but he is wrong. Speaking in tongues is biblical. The Lord gives us the gift of interpreting as well. I repent for i listen to man more than i read. Lord forgive us. Thats why its crucial to read and be lead by the Holy Spirit. I have heard and spoken in tongues. It is scripture. Tongues is not the definition of world languages. Repent.
You should study this in a whole chapter approach not picking verses that suits your belief about this praying in the spirit or singing in the spirit, or speaking in tongues
1 Corinthians 14:14- For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
@9:10 he tries to make an attempt to explain the meaning of the verse. However, I believe that his explanation is incorrect. The reason for this is because:
1 Corinthians 14:13-14- Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
From the verses above we can clearly see that the person speaking in tongues is among the persons whose mind is unfruitful together with the listeners. If that were not the case why would Paul say in verse 13 that he/she who prays in tongues should pray that he/she interpret. If you understand what you are saying you do not need to pray that you interpret, rather you would proceed to interpret.
Therefore in verse 14, Paul is indeed saying that the minds of those who speak in tongues are unfruitful/ do not understand what they are saying.
