I believe if you speak in tongues by yourself your speaking directly to the Lord in spirit, because of this scripture.
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1 Corinthians 14:2

Iam from apostolic Church he is saying the truth from the bible God bless you.
