John 1:1-3 is speaking of the creation of this world.

Begotten is not created. Doug needs to stop adding his private interpretation.

Speaking of Proverbs 8, the Bible AND EGW are clear that this verse is speaking of Christ.

The Bible and EGW disagree with Pastor Doug Batchelor

“The Sovereign of the universe was not alone in His work of beneficence. He had an associate–a co-worker who could appreciate His purposes, and could share His joy in giving happiness to created beings. "In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." John 1:1, 2. Christ, the Word, the only begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father–one in nature, in character, in purpose–the only being that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God. "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6. His "goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2. And the Son of God declares concerning Himself: "The Lord possessed Me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting . . . When He appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him: and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him." Proverbs 8:22-30. {PP 34.1}

Pastor in his sermon said that Jesus refereed to himself as "THE" "I AM".

Did he really? Let's see what the Bible says.

In Exodus 3:14, God "calls himself", I AM. Was Jesus also "calling himself" I AM in John 8:58?

According to most Christians, including SDAs, it is believed and taught that Jesus is saying in John 8:58 that he "is", I AM. John 8:58 is translated as follows:

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

Is Jesus really claiming "to be" I AM?

Let's read another verse using the same Greek words ἐγώ εἰμι (ego eimi). Acts 26:29 says:

And Paul said, "I would wish to God, that whether in a short or long time, not only you, but also all who hear me this day, might become such as I AM, except for these chains."

Is Paul claiming to be the I AM of Exodus 3:14 in this verse?

No. In John 8:58, Jesus was just stating that he was already in existence before Abraham was in existence. We need to read in context. Jesus was NOT saying that in comparison to Abraham not being self existent that he himself IS self existent. Paul, in Acts 26:29, stated his hope that others would exist, or be, as he is.

In Exodus 3:14, in contrast, God was calling Himself I AM as identifying WHO He is.

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

In the last part, the I AM is used as a noun to identify a specific person which is not the case in either John 8:58 or Acts 26:29.

Jesus is God in the same way that Eve is Adam. They are of one substance. That is another study.

Context is key.

The trinity is a 4th century creation stamped by Constantine who came from pagan worship which was rooted in the origin of triune gods. This is most disgraceful and discrediting doctrine against the Father, who alone is God.

I've lost all energy trying to reason with unreasonable people.

Jesus was the creator.
