Of course the HS is not 'just a force' its GOD'S spirit, It come from, eminates from, is sent by HIM. nowhere in scripture is it refurred to as a 'person'. This is totally a manmade, post Christian assumption along with so many other false teachings!
Why did the apostles in all their letters to the faithful never mention once the word 'comforter' or 'helper' if Jesus had previously said it at the last supper? It took John till 98AD to mention it in his gospel! The only inference we get previosly is paul saying "The Holy Spirit says" ( Heb 3:7) where he quotes David's words at Psm 95:7. David said "It was God's Spirit that spake by me" ( 2 Sam 23:2 ). Thus Paul simply stated what God had said, THROUGH David who was inspired by Spirit thus!.
Where does one ask questions?
The Holy Spirit is of cause a person, since He is Jesus in spirit (not in flesh) (John 14:18). When Jesus said He would send another (allos) Comforter, it had to be Himself because allos means other of the same kind, that is Himself with a different nature. If it was to be a totally other entity/person, Jesus would have used the word heteros (different kind). Did Jesus make a mistake by using allos instead of heteros? I don't think so.
The Bible makes a plain statement to the identity of the Comforter.(1 John 2:1).
There are only two deities in heaven, God the Father and His only begotten (born – Pro 8:24-25)) Son. Gods Son inherited His Fathers attributes and was GIVEN (by the Father) all powers in heaven and in earth (Mat 28:18).
Amazing grace of God. 🙂
