There is a metaphysical understanding of light that a photon doesnt travel, but emanates wherever a longitudinal wave disturbs the aether. Longitudinal waves are sound and the voice of God was the light they hid from in the garden behind fig leaves. God is light. We were designed to require light as our bread that is not bread alone. Our modern fig leaves starve us of this and we die slowly, and now faster, in the darkness.
