In the Bible I can clearly see that tithes were intended for the support of the POOR! The Levites partook of it because they had no heritage among the people, therefore they were poor. But what happened?, they appropriated all the tithings and offerings and enriched themselves with it, and allowed the poor of the land to go hungry. For whom do you think was the FOOD IN THE HOUSE OF GOD spoken of in MALACHI?? Just for the Levites? I dont think so, it was for the poor of the land as well as for the Levites because they were supposed to be poor as well. Are the Churches today doing the same thing? Are they mismanaging the money the members give?? Should they be helping more the poor and needy and helping less themselves, meaning paying less their Pastors and beaurocrats? I for my part with a clean conscience give my tithings and offerings to the POOR, as commanded in Deuteronomy chapters 14 and 26, but if the Church amends the way it is administering the money given to it, I will give tithings and offerings to the Curch AGAIN! The people who were robbing God were Jewish high priests! They were stealing the best of the tithes for themselves.

Moreover pastor, if you endorse tithing, then you need to be following the SAME tithing plan set up by God, which is entirely different than bringing in 10% of your earned income every Sunday morning. There were only a few tithes given to the church each year, and it wasn’t cash that they gave, it was agricultural products!
The one who collect the tithe is a thieve.
