  1. Hi Doug,
You are an amazing teacher ,but I on this matter I tend to differ , reason being we are to be givers and givers with a cheerful heart, and what we purpose in our heart ……. Matt is still under the Law Jesus was a Jew and He was bought up under the Law ,so my belief is we are no longer under the LAW and because Jesus gave everything for us,so in turn it all belongs to God and there is no limit to giving, but we should seek God on this matter and as a matter of fact those that have much should be the ones supporting those who have little is what I believe, no one should be without, but sadly many are. A person should never be force to give, but be obedient to the word.
    Blessings Gayle

  2. Tithe is not income, God did not want money read Deuteronomy 14:22-29. Abraham, Jacob gave out of their own heart's desire. Not a law. Tithing was the law under Moses. Paul explained in the New Testament if you keep one you have to keep them all. Malachi was talking about the law read chapter 2 of Malachi. Giving and tithing are not the same. Jesus addressed tithes as it related to the law. The law was still in play until his death. This guy is mixing scriptures up to support tithing. Some of these scriptures quoted do not relate to tithing. They relate to people giving because they wanted to. Stop taking scripture out of context, this is the crime of the church. You should give to your church to help support, but you are not required to tithe. Stop Tithing was under the law. It was a requirement. But you have been freed from the law. "The windows of heaven" in scripture is referring to rain, not blessings you cannot see (read the book of Genesis 8:2) . The tithe was related to crops so the priests, widow and orphans could have something to eat. That was its only purpose. Also, the priests had to give a tithe from their portion. Ask your pastor if they give a tithe on the tithes they receive? If they say Yes, ask them who gets it. Stop this nonsense in the church. Jesus freed you from the law. If you live by the law then the death of Christ is in vain Paul explained this clearly in his letters.

  3. You can never outgive God in your giving!! He is faithful to those who are faithful to God in their giving as He won't forget you and will take care of you always. He does not fail in this area. As for the theives in the church – give it to the Lord and He will take care of it in ways that you would not think of! That's all up to God to deal with the thieves and it's up to us to be faithful to Him.
