  1. Returning to GOD on what is his.
Meaning the 10 percent tithes that belongS tO him, teSt GOD,be obedience to him & becoming a faithful tither here you can see overflowing blessings you will receive unto him in every areas of your life.

  2. Dear Brother Batchelor,

Your argument for New Testament Christians paying tithe is pretty weak for those that don't believe the Old Testament is binding on Christians. Jesus in his talk about mint, anise and cummin was speaking to Old Testament Jews. The ONLY places in the New Testament where the word "tithe" occurs are in the two verses you quoted. Seventh-day Adventists should believe the tithe is what God claims based on the writings of Ellen G. White.

Also, please tell me what INFALLIBLE bible you believe. Infallible means NO error at all. You mostly quoted from the New King James Version which in Hebrews 9:12 says, "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption." Do you believe that is the infallible Word of God? If Jesus entered the Most Holy Place right after his crucifixion (this verse is about what already happened and is not a prophecy) then he did not first enter the Most Holy Place to begin the Investigative Judgement on October 22, 1844. A further ramification is that the Spirit of Prophecy has a defect in doctrine. Is that what you believe?

You quote Malachi 3:8 from the New King James Version but up on the screen the quote is from the New International Version. Is the New International Version your infallible bible? It's the one that says in Ezekiel 28:18 in a discussion about Satan that "By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching." Do you believe Satan has been reduced "to ashes?" Notice the verse is in ENGLISH and it's past tense.

Please tell me what your infallible Bible is if you have one. If you don't have an infallible Bible, why should I believe you?

  3. So, why is tithing still taught from the law but nothing else? The new testament never mentions it but instead speaks of freewill gifts and offerings. There are many other laws in the OT. Which ones should we still keep? Paul speaks plainly and severely in the NT regarding going back to the law. (Read Galatians). In 1 Cor 9 vs 20, 21 Paul says he is not under law nor outside the law of God but under the law of Christ. The letter of law was a shadow and could never make one righteous, instead, it killed and is called "the ministry of death" in 2 Cor 3 verse 7. I understand that one should help with expenses if attending meetings and enjoying the use of the building utilities. I also understand that to give to a person in need far outweighs any set tithe. The letter of the law (which brings death) has been overridden by the law of Christ which brings life. Even the keeping of the sabbath is no longer a requirement. Christ is lord of the sabbath and our sabbath rest…..we rest from sin, our attempts of self righteousness and works of the law….which includes a set tithe. If someone desires to give 10% of their income, fine, but to say one MUST is not scriptural.
