Check out EZ 45:17 and compare to Col 2:16-17. Look at Heb 10:1 for what shadows are. Look at GEN 8:10 & 12. Why did Noah send out birds on 7 day cycles? Why did Pharaoh gripe at Moses for making the Israelites rest EX 5:5? Were they supposed to work 24/7? The sabbath commandment gets more exposure in the 4 gospels than ALL the other 9 put together–MATT 12, MK 2 & 3..LUKE 6,13,14,23..JOHN 5, &, 9 IN NONE of the 4 gospels did any author mention the cessation of sabbath and these gospels were written in the NEW COVENANT ERA. MONSTER argument of silence!!!. PAUL wrote Colossians in 60-62 AD and MARK wrote ..JESUS "saying the sabbath was made for man" in 70 AD. You also warped Hebrews 4 like most clergy do. LAST…I read the authoritarian book.."From Sabbath to Lord's Day" DA Carson and others, 35+ years ago.. Even the authors do not agree that Col 2:16-17 means cessation of sabbath for SUNday. MATT 24:24..go with JESUS (LORD JUDGE) or the Pharisee crowd.

John includes at least 8 explanatory and time sequence/chronology editing comments: 2:2, 3:24, 6:71, 7:39, 11:2, 12:16 & 33, 21:19.
Why are there ZERO editing words included 50 years or more after JESUS left Earth (New Covenant era) regarding Sabbath cessation, abrogation, abolishing, obliteration, being a shadow, fulfilled by Christ, not valid for gentiles.. in any of the sabbath verses of JOHN's sabbath accounts in JOHN's chapters 5,7 and 9 ???? If it was a big deal enough for JOHN to include 3 sabbath encounters in his gospel account, wouldn't it be obvious that he would mention about the disciples/church trashing it and replacing it with a SUNday/Lord's Day observance???? This argument does not get presented or answered in SABBATH/SUNday-Lord's Day debates. Was JOHN a clueless, crazy, stupid idiot???
I'm afraid Doug's teaching are very confusing and contradictory. He doesn't preach as our doctrine, the Gospel of Grace given to Paul through Jesus based on the cross/ressurrection. He merges what Jesus preached, the Gospel of the Kingdom, with the Gospel of Grace alongside the Old Testament as ALL doctrine. This will lead to constant contradiction and confusion. The Catholic Church does the same thing. This is why we have over 200 denominations. In one breath Doug will claim if a believer starts to fall back in sinning "too" much we could be denied our salvation. So, Doug what is the magic too much sin #? Paul does not teach this doctrine. Our ONLY doctrine in this depensation of Grace comes from Paul, the books of Romans thru Philemon. Never go to the OT for doctrine unless you are a Jew living in the days up till Jesus ministry. Never go to the Kingdom of Gospel of Jesus unless you are a Jew living in the days of Jesus ministry. Now knowing this, the bible will never contradict itself or leave you confused and questioning your salvation. So many people don't believe in Christianity BECAUSE of these confusing teachings by so many denominations. There is only ONE Denomination, it's called the Body of Christ given to us by Paul where if you believe you are a doomed sinner but believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, suffered for our sins, died and ressurected the Holy Spirit baptizes you and seals you as saved. All your sins are forgiven, past, present and future. That's it! Nothing more needed. Jesus did it all for us. This is why The Body of Christ is not a religion but a 'Faith". However, after the RAPTURE, the dispensation of Grace closes. Now we go back to 'works salvation' the Kingdom of God gospel and the book of Revelation prophecies and doctrines. Get saved before this dispensation closes. Getting saved in the Tribulation most likely will end with your head chopped off. For more info, study Les Feldick.
