Indeed, faith is how Christians are to live, "The just shall live by faith." What is the basic fact about faith? Romans 3:27, "The law of faith." You mention that there are 7 steps to a stronger faith. However, the story of the centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant, shows only ONE STEP, Matthew 8:5-10. This one step is further stated in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." This is the faith the centurion had. It was great because God gave it as a gift. This stronger faith is "not of ourselves." Humans do not have the spiritual capacity to match the law of faith, it is a gift. You are giving your audience an impossible task by making them think they can come to "great faith" by steps. This puts humans in a struggling position to gain strong faith on our own efforts. Your presentation deals with human effort to obtain what only God can give. Your idea of a stronger faith will cause people to say things like, "If only I had more faith." And what is behind the story of the centurions great faith? He new that is was the faith of Jesus behind the healings. Peter adds light to this in Acts 3:16, "And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all." It is the faith that came from Jesus, not Peter! This is "great faith" because it is the faith of Jesus that is given as a gift that is the law of faith; a faith that never fails and moves mountains! Listen to Batchelor and the faith he wants us to have is the growing of faith based on human efforts. He uses great text, but he does not give us the Great Faith the centurion and Peter drew from Christ. Take Batchelor's text and place in them the gift of faith is in Christ ours if we understand the gift is in Christ, who is given to believers.
