Angels have a reputation of being glorious and beautiful, but is that really the case? In today’s episode, we’ll be analysing several of the angels from the bible, biblical apocrypha and the classification of angels made popular by Christian mythos. When we look at the angels such as the Cherubim, Seraphim and the Ophanim, we start to realise how terrifying these creatures really are and how like us, many biblical characters also expressed the same wonder and concern. Where many angels do maintain the more humanoid appearance that we’ve come to expect, some of these angels look like they belong in a completely different mythology… or a horror movie.

I remember an old Catholic Bible my parents had (the same Bible that I learned about Lilith in Genesis) some writings that said Humans were not to be able to see angels with our eyes and if we were to spy actual angels, they would appear hideous to the human sight.

Contrary to widespread misconception and depictions, God's angels do not have wings, and they appear to be exactly the same as humans when they take on a physical form in order to be seen by humans (Genesis 18:1-33; Genesis 19:1-13). This is also inferred in Galatians 4:14 because apostle Paul was a human who had no wings; and inferred in Hebrews 13:2 because humans have unawarely entertained angels, but thought that they were entertaining human strangers.
Unlike angels who do not have wings, the cherubims have two (2) wings (1 Kings 6:24; 1 Kings 8:7; 2 Chronicles 3:11-12), and the seraphims have six (6) wings (Isaiah 6:1-7).
Although not definitive, the four 'creatures' (misinterpreted as 'beasts' in Revelation 4:6-9, Revelation 5:6-14, Revelation 6:1-7, Revelation 7:11, and Revelation 19:4; see Note 1 below), are most likely seraphims because they are described as having six (6) wings (see Revelation 4:8), as do the seraphims in prophet Isaiah's vision in Isaiah 6:2. It is however, it is possible that the said four 'creatures' (misinterpreted as 'beasts' in Revelation 4:6-9, Revelation 5:6-14, Revelation 6:1-7, Revelation 7:11, and Revelation 19:4), are another category of heavenly spirit beings.
Note 1: The word ‘beast’ is not an appropriate usage of the word to describe God's four ‘loyal’ and ‘righteous’ heavenly 'creatures' (misinterpreted as 'beasts' in Revelation 4:6-9, Revelation 5:6-14, Revelation 6:1-7, Revelation 7:11, and Revelation 19:4), because in the ‘prophetic’ scriptures of the Bible the word ‘beast’ is one of several depictions of: –
🔹The ‘evil empire’ (see Note 2 below) that will unprovokingly attack and invade the State of Israel 🇮🇱 in the time of the end (e.g. Daniel 7:7; Revelation 11:7; Revelation 13:1-4,12,14,15; Revelation 14:3,9,11; Revelation 15:2; Revelation 16:2,10,13; Revelation 17:3,7-8,11-13,16,17; Revelation 18:3; Revelation 19:4,19,20; Revelation 20:4,10);
🔹The Antichrist who is depicted as ‘another beast’ coming up out of the ‘earth’ in Revelation 13:11 (as distinct from the ‘first’ beast in Revelation 13:12 that will rise up out of the ‘sea’ (i.e. eastern Mediterranean Sea; see Revelation 13:1); and
🔹The Antichrist who is also depicted as the ‘[second] beast’ in Revelation 13:17-18).
Note 2: Although a little off topic, the ‘evil empire’ (often depicted as the ‘beast’ in the book of Daniel and in the book of Revelation), is deciphered to be none other than the revived Islamic Caliphate 🌙 which will be led by the Antichrist from Turkey 🇹🇷. Explanation: The term ‘Grecia/Greece’ in Daniel 8:21 (and also in Daniel 10:20, Daniel 11:2, Joel 3:6, and Zechariah 9:13), is a mistranslation of the term ‘Javan’ or ‘Yâvân’ (Strong's H3120), which was the name of Noah's grandson Javan (Genesis 10:1-4), and was also the name of the ‘nation’ that was founded by Noah's grandson Javan (Genesis 10:5,32). The nation Javan was located near the Bosphorus Strait on the western coast of what is now Asia Minor which, except for Armenia 🇦🇲, Azerbaijan 🇦🇿, and the southern part of Georgia 🇬🇪, is almost exclusively occupied by Turkey 🇹🇷. Therefore, it is reasonable to interpret that the term ‘Grecia/Greece’ in Daniel 8:21 (and also in Daniel 10:20, Daniel 11:2, Joel 3:6, and Zechariah 9:13), pertains to the modern day Turkey 🇹🇷 rather than to modern day Greece 🇬🇷. This interpretation is perfectly consistent with Ezekiel 38:1 through 39:29 which informs that the coalition of nations that will unprovokingly attack and invade the State of Israel 🇮🇱 will be led by a nation that will occupy the ancient nations of Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:2-3,6; Ezekiel 39:1), all of which were located in what is now Asia Minor, and almost exclusively occupied by Turkey 🇹🇷.
