  1. Loved the book, now watching movie…as they said it's been hollywoodized & partly DEI (both CIA bosses black, male lead 'rescued' by smarter female- however DEI was ridiculed in movie with 'hair' comment & white guy sitting on couch knitting). Chris Evans looked & dressed like a 70s porno star. Replacing the little girls he was to rescue with an early teen girl with a heart issue was laid on a bit thick + fits in with Hollywood's paedo fixation.
Maybe I'll have more to say after watching the other half of movie.
If they had stuck with the book's plot it would have been a 9/10 movie.
Pay Mark to write the screenplay for sequel.

  2. Haha you had Chris evens and Ken aka Ryan gos… but what people don't understand a extra 50 pages isn't NOTHING haha putting 50 pages on a movie is WEEKS and MILLIONS… OBVIOUSLY books are better and more detailed if that surprises you then your not smart. . The ONLY way you can Justify a book is to do a full 3 or more seasons on a TV special… especially like how the new Jack Reacher show.. it's amazing btw.. only a few movies are good compared to the books it's very hard.. in a movies with millions of dollars you have to major events of the story, including exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution HAHA all in a couple hours ..

  3. This is exactly what they did to without remorse and no one in Hollywood understands why it’s flopped. Entirely change everything about the story, characters, time frame, etc…

  4. Brian Garfield and David Morell weren't so lucky: Death Wish and Rambo turned into franchises that spat in the face of the source materials' messages. I love the Death Wish and Rambo movies… but feel bad for the authors when they talk about the subject.

  5. I have this rule…never watch a movie based on a book that I had read earlier. I was disappointed in the Gray Man as I was disappointed in the Tom Cruise 'Jack Reacher' movies. Gosling was too pretty to be a gritty Court Gentry.
