No, just no. Cops have discretion to arrest you for public intoxication. If you aren't bothering anyone, just hanging out, they won't bother you. If you go up to a cop and call him a bitch ass n*gger, yeah, you're making a public disturbance and need to go to jail.
In a state where I can walk around with a gun either on my hip or in my possession concealed, there is no argument for ‘extreme responsibility’ when it comes to someone being belligerent on the sidewalk. When it comes to lethal weapons cops and citizens are on the same level, hence the caution these days. When you act a fool you face consequences, have had countless run ins with police and never one issue even when they were begging for a reason to escalate. That shit is typically on you. Whether your ego says the cop should ‘be held to a standard’ you formulated in your own head or not.
