I think we are to understand that Satan is always working to bring about the downfall of God’s children. But it is interesting that he must ask. God is absolutely in control and could deny Satan his requests but doesn’t.
This would be a good question to ask God why? It would also be a good question to ask why Satan is so persistent in doing what he does? He never seems to take a break, tire or give up on trying to corrupt us and bring us down. This is kind of remarkable. Why does he continue without fail?
There seems to be some kind of an arrangement between God and Satan concerning us which has to be mutually beneficial to both of them. I can see from God’s side that testing us can strengthen us. But what’s in it for Satan? Why would he even agree to help God in testing his children if he is against God? There must be more to this then we have been told.
